How to Measure Your Ring Size

How to Measure Your Ring Size

Several methods can help you determine your ideal ring size. If you have a ring of the correct size, you can measure it or use our

printable ring size guide for comparison. Alternatively, you can also measure your finger directly to find your size.

Explore the steps to measure your ring size below.

Method 1:

Measure a Ring

Select a comfortably fitting ring for the finger where you plan to wear your new one.

Measure the internal diameter of the chosen ring using a ruler or measuring tape. Use a ruler with millimeter (mm) markings, and place the ring on top to measure the inside circle – the part touching your finger.

You may make use of our Ring Size Chart to convert the diameter measurement into the appropriate ring size.

Method 2:

Measuring with String or Paper

Cut a piece of string or paper around 10 centimeters (cm) long.

Gently wrap it around your finger where you want the ring to sit—ensure it’s snug but not tight.

Mark where the string or paper overlaps using a pen.

Lay the string or paper flat on a ruler, measuring the length (mm) from the end to the marked point.

Use this measurement (your finger circumference) to find your size on our Ring Size Chart.

Helpful Tips

Always verify your measurements for precision.

For accurate results, measure your actual finger in the afternoon when your

hands are warm. Your finger size may slightly change throughout the day, over

time, and with temperature variations. Opt for the larger size (or half size) if you

fall between two ring sizes to ensure a comfortable fit.

Measure the specific finger where you plan to wear your ring (or use a ring worn

on the same finger). Ring sizes can differ between fingers and hands.

Can I resize my rings?

Resizing feasibility varies with the ring’s style and material. Rings with diamonds

or gemstones encircling the band are non-resizable, requiring stone removal.

Gold and sterling silver rings are resizable, but tougher metals like titanium and

tungsten cannot be resized due to their extreme hardness.

Planning a ring surprise?

If uncertain about the size, borrow a ring that they wear on the same finger and

use our Printable Size Guide or Ring Size Chart for measurements. Alternatively,

inquire with friends or family about their size. In any case, confirm the ring's resize

or exchange options.

Find Your Ring Size

STEP 1

Choose a ring that comfortably fits the intended finger for your new ring.

STEP 2

Position the ring over the corresponding circles on the right. Align the inside edge with the closest-sized circle.

STEP 3

If your size falls between two or is a half size, opt for the larger size for a comfortable fit.

STEP 4

Verify your size by measuring the inside diameter with a ruler, ensuring it aligns with the measurements in the circles.
